Eclipse (documentation) 2016

Eclipse by: Morgan Skinner, Meredith Jones, and Stephanie Blazevic

Eclipse is a video installation created using robotics and mirrors for analog video manipulation. The video loop is comprised of two layered projections of a forest scene that are mapped to the shape of a circle. A robotic arm with mirrors rotates towards the lower projector and gradually cuts the image in half, casting the semicircles to each side of the room. As the arm returns to its rest position, the effect reverses. The overlaying projections cause a blending of colour, a blending that is undone as the image is cut by the mirrors.
